An open source project available for all to use and develop. Using AJAX to update in real time an availability calendar. This script is great and is ideal for hotels or apartments. We at present are busy building a Sobi2 plugin using this module and will soon be available for download at Website Ideas.

Some great features that it has!

# A very simple php/ajax script that can be used as an availability calendar for hotels/apartaments etc.
# This panel would be the admin panel where the owner could update the availabilty for each day.
# It would be a simple matter of reproducing this without the links for the public availability calendar (ie without the possibility to modify the day status)
# It uses AJAX to change the days state without having to reload the page – just click on any day to change it’s state.
# The script with all the files including the images used can be downloaded in this zip file

Another free professional WordPress-theme created by Evan Eckard for the smashing Magazine Fans. This theme was designed with the main focus being on patterns and typography and comes in 5 flavours. I often follow closely to what the boy’s from SM are releasing, they give up great designs without any restrictions. 2 Alternatives to PHPMyAdmin that are great

OK, so with a little hunting around to see if there is any other alternative to PHPMyAdmin, i found 2 others. Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of PHPMyAdmin but like to keep my options open and feet on the ground with the latest trends and applications.

First one up is SQL Buddy.

Sql buddy has many features:

no setup (Plug and Play )
reduced load time, AJAX based
import – export, which is a must
it’s open – source
Complete control of users
Easy to browse

And the other alternative is PHP Mini Admin for MySQL

phpminiadmin – extremely lightweight alternative to heavy phpMyAdmin for quick and easy access MySQL databases.

Instead of installing huge phpMyAdmin (~11Mb) and trying to figure out how to use all it’s features, just upload one ~10Kb file and it’s ready to use!
