Hmm... I have to say, that's a broad question you gave here man. Anyhow, what's the niche of your site? How long has it been running? Secrets to getting more visitors at your site are usually quality content and SEO programming.

The main idea of getting more visitors is backlinks. If you leave your website's link in other site or forum's comment area there is a good possibility of increasing page views. But you have to put links with relevant comments according to your site's category.
You have to search for the sites related to your site's content. Or you can put an advertisement about your site in http://www.vinefire.com/ , http://www.craigslist.org/ , http://www.gumtree.com/ or other classifieds.

The effective way is making best use of community sites. Develop more channels and online friends. That's all! It will increase your visitor at least 1000.
Promoting your site with above methods should be a daily activity for 30 minutes. Frequently site/blog updating is also a good way of falling in the eye of google. Then it will take you to the first page.

Here some ways of getting more traffic to your website/blog:
1. Increasing your website exposure using banner exchanges
2. Increasing your website traffic using traffic exchanges
3. Building links, submitting articles containing links to your website to article directories.
3. Announcing your blog/website update on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks for your post, Bubble! I am also a newbie in this puzzling website building business and the way I look at those suggestions, I get overwhelmed. Which is the most efficient way that should be done first?

Hmm... Maybe you should work on the title of your site. For example the title of your site is "How to lose weight"

That's a good title because lots of people would type exactly that whenever they want to lose weight and chances of your site being in the first of the list is high.

These are all pretty great pieces of advice. Arguy has some great pointers in his or her post. I think the biggest thing you need to do is do some research and learn more about skills like search retargeting, raising your PR, etc. Good luck!
