Do you have any experience in promoting website offline, by placing ads on newspapers, publishing leaflets, other offline efforts. How effective is it?

I don't think that offline advertising would work as well as online advertising. For one, memory recall is an important factor in advertising and an offline advertisement does not make a good memory recall once a prospective client is in front of the computer. Your leaflets could be misplaced.

Promoting your site offline depends on what kinds of site that is you are promoting. If its a big company site, then promoting it offline would be a great idea and if its not, it isn't.

Besides, there are many ways to advertise your site online effectively. And it won't cost that much either unlike doing it off line.

I think promoting websites offline are a good idea, but I wouldn't put too much time into it. Marketing your website online is usually easier for users to access. It usually just involves someone clicking on your website rather than having to get on the internet and typing the address in. Email marketing is one way to promote your website. Don't be afraid to try new online marketing tactics!
