Hi guys

Thought i would start my own thread and post some Google adsense tips. Most of which i have read on other blogs.

1) Ads can work well in-between other stuff.
2)Put too much emphasis on AdSense and your site may be linked to less.
3)Even if you get huge traffic, the AdSense income from the site is more dependent on the site type and audience.
4)Image ads can be relevant and work for you, but they might also apall some visitors.
5)When it comes to context sensitive targeting, you can increase or lower the importance of certain parts of your page.
6)Be aware of risks when you change ad layouts too much.
7)Use competing ad systems when AdSense doesn't seem to work for a site.
8)Sometimes you may get a sudden increase in traffic, hence ad clicks, but you can't locate the source of the traffic.
9)Consider using AdSense even when the page doesn't get any traffic yet.
10)Making money with AdSense takes time.

basic rules , please post any others to this, Lets try quote and add to what works best for adsense revenue.

Nice pointers.

I Must say what works for me is, is the use of the big rectangular ad. Nothing else on the page. ! simple block.  Works like a charm.

Uhm... What exactly do you mean by "Put too much emphasis on AdSense and your site may be linked to less."? I didn't get that.

I believe what he means is if you post way too many adsense ads on your website less people will be likely to visit your website and refer it on either their website, their blog, or other websites. As I personally if I visit a website where it's just ads galore and you get distracted from the *actual* content of the page then that means you have too many ads and you lose visitors. As I don't go on these types of websites as its just too much of an eyesore.
