Does anyone here use the image editing software GIMP?

I've heard plenty of positive things about it. I first heard about it after asking about some kind of software that would be good for making GIF animations, but I have yet to try it.

I use it with my ubuntu machine and yes not a bad piece of software. I do how ever recommend using Adobe CS3 or CS4 with Wine on ubuntu rather! There is a post on the blog ,on how to set it up.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, Top Nerd. I'm afraid in my case, if I was going to start using ubuntu, that would probably be another learning curve for me to deal with.  Wink

It's good to hear how people like different systems. Who knows - Maybe I'll make the switch sometime.

Is GIMP a free software? Where can I find it? I would love to have something easy to use to make my own animations. Do the animations turn out good?

GIMP is totally free and quite simple to use.

Go to www.gimp.org and check it out for yourself.

Gimp is super and I personally use it. It is light to use, easy to understand and after all you are getting this software absolutely free. There are plenty of excellent gimp tutorials online. You will love it! Cool
